Removals in Macclesfield & the Golden Triangle

The eastern side of the county holds two quite different things: the affluent villages of the Golden Triangle, and Macclesfield, a working mill town with the Peak District rising behind it.
The Golden Triangle
Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Prestbury and Knutsford. Large detached houses, frequently behind gates, usually on generous plots with a long drive. Access is easy once you are on the property — the questions are at the entrance:
- Gate width, and whether a full-size vehicle clears it
- Whether the drive turns tighter than it looks on a map
- Whether the surface will take a loaded lorry, or only an empty one
- Whether there is anywhere to turn at the house, or the vehicle reverses out
The other constant here is volume. Garages, annexes, garden rooms, lofts and stores — all coming, all routinely omitted from a phone-call estimate. These are surveyed properly, and frequently contain pieces that need cases or crates rather than blankets.
Knutsford
Slightly its own thing: a historic town centre with narrow streets, listed frontages and genuine loading restrictions, surrounded by substantial housing with excellent access. A move from the centre and a move from the edge are not the same day.
Macclesfield
The most ordinary work on this side of the county and a good deal of it. Victorian terraces around the centre, mill and warehouse conversions, postwar estates, and modern housing on the edges. The terraces are tight and the town is built on a hill, which is a real factor once a trolley is loaded.
The Peak edge
Bollington, Rainow, Pott Shrigley and the lanes climbing east into the hills. Narrow, steep, with few passing places, and genuinely harder in winter — there can be frost up here when there is none on the Plain. We check conditions on the day rather than trusting a valley forecast, and we will move a start time rather than put a loaded vehicle onto an icy single-track.
Around here
Northwich and the salt towns are west, Congleton south, and the Greater Manchester border immediately north.

What is the Golden Triangle?

Do gates and long drives cause problems?
Occasionally. A gate too narrow for a full-size vehicle, a drive that turns tighter than it looks, or a gravel surface that a loaded lorry should not sit on. We check the approach and the gate width before quoting.
Is Macclesfield different?
Yes. A proper working town with Victorian terraces, mill conversions, postwar estates and modern housing, and hills that matter once a trolley is loaded. Much more ordinary work than the villages around it.
