Where we work

Cheshire, county-wide. CH and CW in full, plus the Warrington and Macclesfield edges in WA and SK — Chester and the west, the motorway belt, the Golden Triangle and the eastern edge, and mid-Cheshire with the salt towns and the Plain.

Where a town on our network has its own specialist — Crewe, Nantwich and Sandbach on the CW side — we point people there instead of competing for streets we would only cover in passing. Long-distance and European moves go from the same yards.

Why we survey the road, not just the house

Most removals firms survey the contents. In a county this varied the contents are the easy half. A gated drive in Prestbury, a property on the Chester Rows reached by steps from the pavement, a farm at the end of an unmade lane on the Plain and a Winsford semi with a driveway need four different vehicles and four different crew sizes at identical volume.

So we look at the approach as well as the rooms: gate widths, lane clearances, turning space, loading restrictions and where the vehicle can legally stand. A number produced without that is a guess that gets corrected on the day, and the correction only goes one way.

Period property

Cheshire has an unusual amount of it — black-and-white timber frontages in Chester, Georgian townhouses, Victorian villas and the older village stock. On these the building is frequently more fragile than the contents: lime plaster marks where painted plaster would shrug, original boards scuff, and old framing will not forgive a corner taken at speed.

Boards and padding go down before anything moves and the route through the house is agreed rather than improvised. It costs time at the front of the day and it removes the conversation about making good at the end of it.

What we say about time and cost

We quote in writing after a survey, and the written quote is the number. If something genuinely changes — a second address appears, or the chain moves — we tell you what it means before we act on it rather than after.

On long moves we say plainly at survey whether it is one day or two. A move that should be two days compressed into one is how furniture gets damaged, and no saving is worth that. We do not publish prices or transit windows on this site because neither is meaningful before we have seen the job.

Small jobs too

A single room, a dealer collection or one heavy piece gets the same crews and the same protection as a five-bedroom house in Alderley Edge. Smaller vehicle, shorter day, same standard.

What we do not do

We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.

Cover

Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.
